A Medicare Advantage Plan also known as Medicare Part C is a health insurance plan offered by private insurance companies that provides you with all your Part A and Part B benefits. If you purchased a Medicare Advantage Plan, Medicare service costs are all paid by your Medicare Advantage Plan not by Original Medicare Plan. Most Medicare Advantage Plans offer prescription drug coverage. The common types of Medicare Part C are following: Health Maintenance Organization Plan (HMO), Preferred Provider Organization Plan (PPO), Private Fee-for-Service Plan (PFFS), and Special Needs Plan (SNP).
